Imbusa is a traditional Bemba ceremony consisting of ancient rules, rituals and precepts used to initiate marital partnership and establish familial values between new couples. Historically Mbusa ceremony objects are destroyed after use and the traditions and practices of Imbusa are passed discreetly from one generation to the next. Wayi Wayi provides an opportunity for research and understanding of the traditional Imbusa ritual through literature, sculptural imagery and guided tours.
Agnes and Lawrence offer marriage counseling and Imbusa ceremony services at Wayi Wayi.
